Phish frontman Trey Anastasio was arrested early this morning (Dec. 15) in upstate New York for driving while under the influence of drugs and with a suspended license. According to reports, Anastasio was on his way to Vermont at around 3:30 a.m. this morning when he was pulled over for failing to keep right of the center line.
The artist, 40, was found to be in possession of hydrocodone, Percocet and Xanax that were prescribed to another person and proceeded to fail a field sobriety test.
Officers took him into custody and booked him at the police station in Whitehall, N.Y. Anastasio was released on his own recognizance and ordered to return for a court hearing early next month.
The artist, whose new album, “Bar 17,” was released in October via his own Rubber Jungle Records, is scheduled to return to the road for five shows the last week of December on the East Coast.
