Amy Schumer secretly got married to an acclaimed chef, and honestly we’re upset we didn’t get the invite.
The actress/comedienne wed a Jon Hamm look-alike named Chris Fischer at a private ceremony in Malibu on Tuesday. Schumer posted photos from the beachside ceremony on Instagram Thursday (Feb. 15) with the caption, “Yup.”
The bride wore a spaghetti strap deep-v gown with a lace bodice, while the groom kept it simple in black suit. Guests included Jennifer Lawrence and a couple of puppies, which looked to have played a role in the ceremony.
Fischer is the owner of Beach Plum restaurant in Martha’s Vineyard — which is Obama-approved — as well as the author of the James Beard Award-winning cookbook The Beetlebung Farm Cookbook: A Year of Cooking on Martha’s Vineyard. The book, which pays homage to his family’s Beetlebung Farm, was beloved in the cooking community for Fischer’s essays as well as his top-notch recipes.
“I spent a lot of time on the farm growing up because my mother was working here but took over running operations from my aunt, Marie, when she retired in 2010 after 35 years,” Fischer told Esquire in 2013. “It’s been an evolution of pretending to know how to do something until you actually know how to do it.” In the same interview, Fischer casually mentioned close friend Jake Gyllenhaal, proving his Hollywood ties run deep.
Prior to Fischer, Schumer dated another hands-on man, furniture builder Ben Hanisch.
