Online retailer Amie Street, currently in the midst of raising its Series B round of financing, unveiled a new Web site today. The site has a new, cleaner look, as well as a number of new features and improvements on existing functions.
The site, which prices music based on consumer demand, still allows user to create profiles, recommend songs, and earn points for recommending songs that grow in value. The new version of the site also allows users to send gifts of mp3s to other users, regardless of whether or not they are members. Members will also be able to stream purchased tracks from any computer, not just their primary machine.
In keeping with the site’s focus on discovery of unsigned artists, users will now be able to sample tracks and navigate around the site without interrupting the stream of the sample.
Amie Street was founded in the spring of 2006. Amazon.com led their Series A round of financing in August 2007.
