Last night, the 2018 American Music Awards hosted some of the greatest names in music for an unforgettable evening of performances and pop-culture moments. Before the party kicked off on stage, AMA red carpet hosts Erika Jayne and AJ Gibson caught up with world-renowned cellist and performer Tina Guo to discuss her creative process and new partnership with The Ritz-Carlton. Guo, who has become well known for her distinctive sound and musical contributions to films like 2017’s Wonder Woman, has teamed up with the brand to bring her unique talent to different hotel locations around the globe.
“Its super, super exciting to be partnering with The Ritz Carlton.” Guo said. “I will be visiting some of their hotels and creating original music — so a soundtrack for each of these destinations. I cannot wait to see what kind of music comes out of this collaboration.”
Both Guo and The Ritz-Carlton share a focus on customizing and bringing unique, memorable experiences to their fans and guests that are not available anywhere else. “When I perform on the cello I never actually play the same piece of music the same way twice, its highly dependent on how I’m feeling that day, the environment that we are playing in and the energy of the audience,” Guo told Jayne and Gibson. “My hope is that with these soundtracks that I will be creating for each individual destination, that someone listening to it with their eyes closed will be able to be brought back to their memories they may have had at a Ritz-Carlton resort.”
After dishing on the exciting partnership, Guo teased a surprise cameo performance later in the award show.
