Amanda Seyfried had a totally fetch surprise for Mean Girls fans at the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts on Thursday night (July 25), performing a rendition of Taylor Swift‘s “Mean” that included some lyrics inspired by the classic 2004 film.
Seyfried, who played Karen Smith in the movie, was joined by actress Ashley Park, who originated the Broadway role of Gretchen Wieners in the 2018 musical adaptation. The two sang a mashup of “Mean” and Lily Allen‘s “Fuck You,” dedicating the performance to “all the Regina Georges out there.”
Some of the Mean Girls-inspired lyrics they added included Seyfried singing “I walk with my head down ‘cause I kissed my cousin and I’ll never impress you. I just want to feel OK again,” references to the infamous Burn Book and lines like “All you are is mean and a liar and pathetic and a fugly slut and mean.”
