Diane J. Almodovar has been promoted to VP, writer/publisher relations for BMI Miami.
Almodovar, who was previously assistant VP, will continue to be responsible for developing BMI’s relationships with its Latin songwriters, composers and publishers nationwide. She will also continue to oversee BMI’s annual Latin music awards.
Almodovar joined BMI in 1993 as director of Latin Music. She opened Miami’s BMI office in 1998, and since then, has expanded her department to New York, Puerto Rico and Los Angeles. During her tenure, she has overseen the signing of artists such as Shakira, Juanes, Estefano, Juan Luis Guerra, Thalia, Luis Miguel, Calle 13 and Jennifer Lopez.
Almodovar will continue to be based in Miami, reporting to BMI senior VP, writer/publisher relations Phil Graham.
