Before she was the odds-on favorite to win “The Voice” this week, Cassadee Pope was the lead singer of Hey Monday and, it seems, an in-demand guest vocalist for Baltimore-based alt-punk band All Time Low on their new album “Don’t Panic.”
“She has such a sick and dynamic voice and a really cool range,” frontman Alex Gaskarth told Billboard on the set of their Walmart Soundcheck taping. “She just always does a good job at lending her talents. It was just nice to finally get her on something. It was very cool.”
Pope lends her voice on two new tracks, “Backseat Serenade” and “So Long, Soldier.” Other collaborators on the album include Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump and Jason Vena of Acceptance on the song “Outlines.”

“We’ve never done a whole lot of collaborations but there are times when you kind of go ‘oh who would be cool on this song?'” Gaskarth said.
“Don’t Panic” was released in October and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. First single “For Baltimore” holds a special place in their hearts.

“It’s about being in love in your hometown, but it’s about that genuine love that comes from not only being in love with a person but also with your hometown,” Gaskarth said. “It’s sort of how those two things pair up. Especially when we do what we do.”
