Everyone loves Ed Sheeran‘s direct, folksy-pop form of songwriting, especially on the fun, flirty hit “Shape of You.” We at Billboard Dance found a bunch of cool remixes of the tune, but today, we share a high-profile dance cover.
Alison Wonderland and her pal Naderi had a few days off in Sydney, Australia, so they got up in the studio to put their love of Ed Sheeran to the test. Wonderland’s vocals are hand-made for these lyrics. She is strong and coy on the familiar vocal, putting her own spin on the chorus which of course builds itself into a proper dance floor drop.
It’s got wonky vibes that land somewhere between dubstep and future bass. It’s a rough and tumble take on the sweet and sexy original. Listen to the punked-up, synthtastic cover for yourself below.
