Alicia Keys has shared “In Common,” her first single in four years.
The track, which dropped overnight across all digital platforms, is lifted from Keys’ sixth studio album, slated for release later this year on RCA Records.
Written by Keys, Illangelo, Tayla Parks, Billy Walsh and produced by Illangelo, “In Common” showcases the multi-Grammy winner’s R&B chops with a tropical vibe and a subtle, Latin beat.
“We used to talk ’til midnight/All those days that you stayed at my house/We were just passing the time/When we were young and we ain’t had no vows,” sings Keys in a hushed tone.

Keys had promised new music would materialize this month. She recently told reporters “you’re definitely going to hear some new music” when she performs at the May 28 UEFA Champions League Final in Italy, and she’s booked to appear on SNL this weekend.
