“During this time he has led and directed Sony Music Indonesia’s business operations with distinction and enthusiasm which has seen the company exceed its business plan targets and he has established excellent relations with our local artists and business partners,” notes Handlin in a statement.
Indonesia is an “important market for Sony Music with a vibrant local artist community,” Handlin adds.

Sancaya’s promotion follows the appointment of Julius Ng to managing director of Sony Music Entertainment, Malaysia and Singapore in late 2013. Ng, who also reports to Handlin, has a wealth of experience in the Singapore market, having worked in the music industry since 1986. Prior to joining Sony Music, he was COO and director for Dream Music in Malaysia, where he spearheaded various 360-degree marketing campaigns across multiple platforms.
