Alan Tuchman, who led Alliance Entertainment since 2003, has resigned from the CEO position and will leave the company at the end of the month.
Platinum Equity and the Gores Group last September acquired the music and video wholesaler, which has about $750 million in annual revenue.
Tuchman said he will stay on to help complete with projects currently underway at Alliance and will then move on to the next phase in his career, which is still to be determined.
No word yet on who will replace Tuchman, who has been with Alliance since the mid-1980s when the Coral Springs, Fla.-based company was known as Bassin Distributors.
Platinum Equity and the Gores Group acquired Alliance as part of a plan to use the company to roll-up other music and video distributors in a declining market. Last month under the plan, the private equity firms made their first acquisition earlier this month with the purchase of Edge Entertainment Distribution, a company whose main busines is distributing audio and video physical goods to college bookstores, public libraries, independent music stores and jukebox operators.
