Disney celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Broadway production of Aladdin by granting a wish we never knew we had. On Sunday (Mar. 31), the musical brought together five of the actors who’ve played the Genie for a surprise medley at the end of the show’s matinee.
James Monroe Iglehart, who received a Tony for his performance, was joined by current Genie Michael James Scott, standbys Juwan Crawley and Deonte L. Warren, and Major Attaway, who took on the role on Aladdin‘s first national tour. All five were decked in the character’s classic blue and gold costume.
The quintet sang a mash-up of “Proud of Your Boy,” “These Palace Walls,” “High Adventure,” “A Whole New World” and, of course, “Friend Like Me.”
