AEG Presents has entered into an agreement with JC Hospitality to manage music venue The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Per the agreement, AEG Presents will manage, operate and book the venue beginning in fall 2020 once the property is rebranded to Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
“AEG Presents has been an integral part of The Joint’s success for over a decade,” said Richard “Boz” Bosworth, president and chief executive officer of JC Hospitality which owns Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. “AEG further expands on our commitment to partner with best-in-class operators for the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas transformation.”
AEG Presents has brought countless stars to The Joint in the past including Nine Inch Nails, Imagine Dragons, Paul McCartney, The Killers and Drake. The promoter has also been involved in securing residencies for the venue including Carlos Santana, Tiësto, Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, KISS, Mötley Crüe, Journey and more.
“We are excited to be working with the JC Hospitality team on this project and to what is most assuredly a bright and exciting future at The Joint,” said executive vice president, chief operating officer and general counsel for AEG Presents Shawn Trell in a release. “From a sound and sightline perspective The Joint is already one of the best concert venues not just in Las Vegas, but anywhere. And now JC Hospitality and AEG Presents will be improving the venue even further.”
During the property’s transformation to Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, The Joint will undergo renovations in partnership with AEG Presents. The upgrades will include a redesigned second floor that will further expand the VIP experience by remodeling the luxury suites, adding more luxury seating options and creating a high energy lounge environment. Construction will begin next February and will be completed in time for the unveiling of the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas property in late 2020.
“We’re so thrilled to not only continue, but expand upon our relationship at The Joint,” said senior vice president of AEG Presents Las Vegas Bobby Reynolds in a release. “AEG Presents has been involved with the Joint for over 12 years and we’re excited to be on this journey with JC Hospitality to usher in a new and exciting chapter at the property.”
The Joint is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year after it was renovated and reopened in 2009. The renovation transformed the iconic venue and doubled its size from the original venue in the hotel that opened in 1995.
“Music is an integral part of the Virgin brand that dates back to the creation of Virgin Records, and AEG has a long history as an influential entertainment company,” said CEO of Virgin Hotels Raul Leal in a release. “We look forward to collaborating with AEG to create and deliver a dynamic entertainment experience to offer our guests and all music fans that visit Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. This partnership reassures our passion for music and our commitment to keeping with our roots.”
