Sports and live entertainment presenter AEG and Mark Burnett Productions (MBP) have partnered to develop and produce live entertainment events, tours and other related programming across a variety of venues, including arenas, amphitheaters, theaters, casinos and theme parks.
Programming under the new multi-year partnership will be based on MBP-owned reality and game shows, to be be presented on AEG-owned properties. New programming under the agreement will likely be announced in the coming weeks.
AEG Facilities, a stand-alone affiliate of AEG, owns, operates or consults venues including the Staples Center (Los Angeles), Sprint Center (Kansas City, Mo.), Prudential Center (Newark, N.J.), Toyota Sports Center (El Segundo, Calif.), Home Depot Center (Carson, Calif.), Hartford Civic Center (Hartford, Conn.), El Rey Theatre (Los Angeles), Rentschler Field (Hartford), Target Center (Minneapolis) and the O2 (London), with additional projects in development.
Mark Burnett has produced such popular TV shows as “Survivor,” “The Apprentice,” “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader” and “Rock Star,” among others. Burnett also has active production companies in Europe and Asia.
AEG and MBP will also collaborate to develop new original content that can be leveraged across all media, including television. Additionally, the new deal gives MBP the first opportunity to produce non-scripted, reality and game show TV programming on select AEG tours and properties. AEG, in turn, will have the first look at select MBP properties that the company designates for live event production.
Los Angeles-based AEG Live, the touring arm of parent company AEG, has promoted tours by Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, High School Musical, Prince, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, Rod Stewart, the Eagles, Paul McCartney, Nickelback, Dixie Chicks, My Chemical Romance, American Idols Live and Dancing with the Stars, among others.
