AC/DC’s Malcolm Young Reportedly Suffering From Dementia
“Malcolm is suffering from dementia and the family thanks you for respecting their privacy,” Young’s relatives said in a statement to the magazine on Tuesday (Sept. 30).
Young, who co-founded the band with brother and AC/DC frontman Angus Young, announced he was taking a break in April. The move became permanent last week, and the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Malcolm was moved to a nursing home. Stevie Young, Angus and Malcolm’s nephew, played guitar on the band’s last album and will join them on next year’s world tour.
AC/DC’s next album, Rock or Bust, is due Dec. 2.
