Earlier this summer, AC/DC finished recording a new album — their first since 2008 — but this accomplishment came hand in hand with bad news: Malcolm Young, who founded the band with his brother, was hospitalized. AC/DC Not on Cusp of Retirement: Sources
AC/DC sold 8 million copies of their previous release, Black Ice — a remarkable accomplishment for any band, especially one that has been releasing music for more than 30 years. (Their first international album came out in 1976.)
A band even older than AC/DC, the Who, voiced support for the group in their new song, “Be Lucky,” out today. “AC/DC’s gonna be fine,” sings Roger Daltrey — though he is likely referring to previous rumors that the band might be retiring or breaking up.
