Dance music is not “Rocket Science,” except when it is. The latest single from Above & Beyond sees the favored trio trying new tricks with great success. It’s a gritty instrumental with enough kick to get your spaceship out of Earth’s atmosphere into stellar orbit.
“This track started as an experiment trying out a new DAW,” Above & Beyond says in a joint emailed statement. “Haven’t totally written off the old way of doing things, but was fun trying something new. We debuted this in front of almost 25,000 people at The Gorge Amphitheater last September (nerve-wracking!) and have to say it went down a storm. After some tinkering, she’s finally out in the world, and just in time for the 300th edition of Group Therapy in Hong Kong on September 29.”
“Rocket Science” is equal parts galactic wonderment and propulsive explosion. It blasts with extraterrestrial textures and soars majestically among the stars.
