London’s celebrated Abbey Road Studios will host the third annual Sound & Vision music and photography exhibition and auction on Feb. 28. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Cancer Research U.K. charity.
Photographic works by the likes of Robert Altman, Henry Diltz, Jamie Hewlett and Terry O’Neill, and autographed limited-edition prints, will go under the hammer on the night.
Diltz’ “Morrison Hotel” photo, which was used for the Doors’ 1970 album of that name, is one of the prized items donated for the auction.
Organizers hope the 2008 auction will raise more than £150,000 ($299,000). Beatles producer Sir George Martin is patron of Sound & Vision which, to date, has raised more than £250,000 ($498,000) for the cancer charity.
