Rock outfit A Perfect Circle will return Sept. 16 with its sophomore Virgin album, “Thirteenth Step.” As previously reported, the set is the band’s first with new bassist Jeordie White (Marilyn Manson), formerly known as Twiggy Ramirez. White replaces Paz Lenchantin, who joined Zwan. APC member Troy Van Leeuwen played on the new album but will not be touring with the group, due to commitments with Queens Of The Stone Age.
A Perfect Circle is led by Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan, former Tool guitar tech Billy Howerdel and drummer Josh Freese.
“Thirteenth Step” is the follow-up to 2000’s “Mer de Noms,” which debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. It spawned the singles “Judith” (No. 4 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks airplay chart, No. 5 Modern Rock Tracks), “3 Libras” (No. 12 Modern/Mainstream Rock Tracks), and “The Hollow” (No. 14 Mainstream Rock, No. 17 Modern Rock).
A Perfect Circle will debut its new material during a two-week U.S. tour, beginning July 26 in Denver and wrapping Aug. 11 in Minneapolis. Afterward, the group will play seven dates on the mainstage of Lollapalooza, beginning Aug. 15 in Phoenix.
