IT’S EMINEM’S WORLD: And you’re just living in it.
With the release of his latest album, “Encore” (Interscope), Eminem is pulling out most of the stops. Following last weekend’s appearance on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” the Detroit-based rapper is making a pair of appearances on MTV this week.
On Tuesday, he’ll spend his afternoon with Carson Daly on “Total Request Live,” while on Wednesday, he sits for the comprehensive look “MTV News Now: The Evolution of Eminem.” If you need more of an Em fix, check out Thursday’s “2004 MTV Europe Video Music Awards” on MTV2.
D.L. BRINGS IN THE STARS: With a full week behind the desk on CBS’ officially hostless “The Late Late Show,” guest host D.L. Hughley will be welcoming quite an array of stars. Check in with him on Monday when opera star Andrea Bocelli will perform, Wednesday for Switchfoot and Thursday with Nellie McKay.
In addition to the music, he’ll also have a star-studded guest chair being filled by the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Vivica A. Fox, Bryan Cranston and more.

• Monday: Plunk down some Pay Per View cash to catch a stellar cast on stage for the Gram Parsons Tribute Concert. • Thursday: The Flaming Lips are better than your average modern rock act. See why on NBC’s “Late Night With Conan O’Brien.”
• Friday: Alf’s a puppet, yet he’s still got his own talk show on TV Land. And he’s got the amazing Leon Redbone stopping by, so you should do the same.
• Saturday: It’s no secret that They Might Be Giants are one of my all time favorite bands. Get the inside scoop on why they are who they are and why they matter by watching last year’s 20th anniversary documentary “Gigantic (A Tale of Two Johns)” on the Sundance Channel.
