Currently in the middle of some label drama regarding his in-the-works fifth full-length, “Black Magic,” 50 Cent decided to take matters into his own hands and released a new album track, “Outlaw,” on Thursday (June 16).
“Ok fuck it I’m putting the first song off my new album out tonight,” the rapper posted on Twitter before issuing a link to the new track. Over a shimmering beat that recalls Lil Wayne‘s “Lollipop,” 50 boasts, “You wanna get shot, go ahead run up on my spot/My lawyers will have me out by 1 o’clock.”
Will 50 Cent Postpone His Album?
Hours before the song release, 50 Cent took to Twitter to complain about the struggles he’s had trying to finalize “Black Magic’s” release through Interscope: “”I’m sorry to announce I will not be releasing a new album this year if we don’t get on the same page,” he wrote. The rapper’s fourth album, “Before I Self Destruct,” peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in 2009.
