GUARINI’S DEBUTKeith,
When will Justin Guarini’s (the “American Idol” runner-up) first solo album be released?
Bonnie SeneseHi Bonnie,
Justin Guarini’s debut studio album was originally slated to bow on Dec. 10. The RCA set has since been shifted to a later date, which has not been announced yet. In the meantime, his first single, “Foolish,” will be released commercially on Dec. 23.
Two of Guarini’s performances on the Fox talent competition series — “For Once in My Life” and “Get Here” — appear on RCA’s “American Idol: Greatest Moments” compilation. That album, which features several songs by winner Kelly Clarkson as well as performances by other runners-up, has sold 339,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
A NEW ALBUM FROM KELLY… PRICELESSHi Keith
I was wondering when Kelly Price’s album, “Priceless,” will drop. According to Billboard.com’s new release section it was scheduled for release in June but apparently that was pushed back.
Thanks,
VictorHi Victor,
“Priceless” was indeed intended for release earlier this year, and then shifted to a November street date, but that too never happened. There is no word on when the album will come out — although we do know it won’t be this year.
Price has charted a few singles in 2002. She’s placed three titles on Billboard’s Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart: “Take It to the Head” (No. 25), “How Does It Feel” (No. 17), and “Someday” (No. 12).
Price’s last album, 2000’s “Mirror, Mirror,” has sold 1.1 million units in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. It peaked at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
IT’S NOW FOR NICKHi!
I was just wondering if you knew how many albums Nick Carter’s “Now or Never” sold during its first week? I know it was ranked at No. 17 but I would like to know how many copies it sold during the first week!
Thank you!
Heather McGilvrayHi Heather,
Carter’s “Now Or Never” moved 68,000 units in the U.S. in its debut week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and opened at No. 17 on The Billboard 200. The Jive set’s first single, “Help Me,” reached No. 36 on the Top 40 Mainstream chart in by Billboard’s sister publication Airplay Monitor.
