3LAU dropped by the Billboard office on Tuesday (May 23) for an interview with Billboard Dance founder Matt Medved.
Recently announced for this year’s Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival, the DJ/producer answered questions on varied subjects, ranging from his forthcoming music video for single “On My Mind” featuring New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski to yesterday’s (May 22) deadly attack on an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena in England.
“There was someone who tweeted ‘no one should go to a concert looking to have a great time and not come home,'” 3LAU said. “That feeling of safety is insanely important for any concertgoer, for any live performer… if I was Ariana Grande I would be destroyed right now, and I’m sure she is. And so I have so much empathy for all those who are directly affected by the tragedy, and of course for Ariana because I’m sure she’s going through a lot right now mentally and feeling somewhat responsible for what happened, which she shouldn’t, of course. I think, moving forward, everybody should just be careful and know that safety is not something we should take for granted.”
