3 Doors Down and Bob Seger recreated their duet “Landing in London” from the latest 3 Doors Down album “Seventeen Days” on stage last night (Aug. 2) in suburban Detroit.
As frontman Brad Arnold began singing the song’s second verse, Seger walked through the stage fog at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Independence Township, Mich., to join him — receiving a massive ovation from his home town fans.
Arnold and Seger embraced at song’s end, with the 3 Doors Down singer confessing, “You’ve just seen one of the best moments in my life.” It was Seger’s first public performances since his March 2004 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and his first singing appearance in the Detroit area since closing his last tour there in summer 1996.
The two acts collaborated on “Landing in London” last year, when both were recording at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville. Seger is continuing work on a new album, tentatively titled “Face the Promise,” which he hopes to have finished before the end of the year.
