Jay-Z has numerous musical and entrepreneurial accomplishments under his belt, including various No. 1 albums, Grammy Awards and his tenure as the president of Def Jam Records. But the music mogul made history in 2009 when he became the solo artist to hold the record for most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 when he scored his 11th chart-topper with “The Blueprint 3.”
With 476,000 copies of “The Blueprint 3” sold in the United States in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, Jay-Z surpassed Elvis Presley, who held the position before being dethroned by the Brooklyn rapper. Jay-Z’s previous release, 2007’s “American Gangster,” had hit No. 1 and tied him with Presley.
