It may be winter in New York, but what better time to plan a summer getaway? Elements Music & Art Festival is the region’s annual sleepaway camp for party people, and the 2020 lineup comes packed with DJ campers ready to outshine the stars.
Grammy-winner Diplo tops the bill with a takeover from his house label Higher Ground, followed by this year’s Grammy nominee Bonobo, house producer’s producer Chris Lake, spell-casting beat queen Tokimonsta, tip-hop lover Gramatik, experimental mood setter Four Tet, Dirtybird head honcho Claude VonStroke, melody makers Bob Moses, and deep house hero Yotto.
Beyond the headliners come fan-favorites, including dubstep dynamo Rusko, Walker & Royce, Golf Clap, Emancipator, and the Desert Hearts crew.
“If you want to see who is playing Coachella in 2022, come to Elements this May,” says Timothy Monkiewicz, co-founder of Elements Festival and its organizing company BangOn!NYC. “From international touring headliners to underground heroes, there will be cutting edge grooves for all tastes and styles. As we continue to expand, so does our art and experiences. Expect larger then life 30’ tall sculptures, a glowing Alice-in-Wonderland forest path, and outlandish stages built by the world’s leading creative minds.”
The dance parties rage all night long, but as Mokiewicz suggests, there’s plenty to do during the day on Elements 150 acre lot. Elements is based on a lake, and you’re welcome to swim and splash the hours away. Craft vendors will be on hand cooking up better grub than your summer camp chef. Partiers can unwind in meditative sound baths or enjoy a deep stretch with certified yoga instructors.
Elements returns to its home in Lakewood, PA., Friday to Monday, May 22 to 25, for Memorial Day Weekend. Tickets are on sale now.
