The holidays are officially here and it’s time to unwind, enjoy the season, and most importantly, express your love and gratitude to the special people in your life.
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Billboard talked to some Latin artists in the music industry who revealed what they are thankful for professionally and personally in 2019.
See their heartfelt answers below.
“Professionally? Being named Person of the Year by the Latin Recording Academy. That event was very special for me, to sit down and see my idols and colleagues sing my songs. I would have never imagined it. Personally, I would say sharing that important moment of my career with my children and my wife. I think that’s key. They go hand-in-hand.”
“One professional thing that I’m grateful this year is completely selling out the European tour that we just did. One personal thing that I’m grateful for in 2019 is having played my first sober show. I didn’t think it was possible for me to be able to do it, because the nerves would always get the best of me without whiskey, but I did it.”
“If I had to thank someone for my professional success, it would be my fans. They are the ones who have kept my music alive for 27 years. For me, that’s very emotional, knowing that they support me and my new Christmas album ‘Memorias de Navidad.’ In my personal life, I’m thankful for my family. We’ve had a very difficult year and they have been there for me, making me feel loved and assured me that I have to continue. I also have to thank God, above everything.”
