Venezuelan artist Micro TDH has signed a recording deal with Big Ligas, the newly launched label that also has rising Argentine rapper Paulo Londra on its roster.
“Big Ligas reached out to me, I traveled to Medellín, and I met with the executives and producers of the label, including Ovy On the Drums,” the singer-songwriter remembered.
Micro TDH has been in constant ascent for several years in his native Venezuela, releasing EPs, several singles and performing all over the country. Recently, he expanded overseas, performing in countries such as Colombia and Spain.
He spoke exclusively with Billboard Venezuela:
What does this new stage represent for you?
This stage is the fruit of so many years of sacrifice and effort to grow my art and my essence worldwide. It is part of the growth that I have aimed at and which I want to continue developing to reach even greater levels with my music.
What are your expectations with Big Ligas?
To optimize each other. I want both the company and my career to get bigger.
Tell us about your first single under the label, “Aquí Estoy” (“Here I Am,” in English).
Well, I recorded it in Medellín, the same week we shot the video clip at Parque Bolívar. I wrote it, and Ovy On the Drums produced it. The video was directed by Jonathan Quintero.
What is the inspiration behind the song?
It’s about overcoming the struggles, competitiveness and affirmation of personal success. The only thing I want is success and respect. We’re living in a much more aggressive time, but that has led to the best music I’ve done to date.
