J Balvin heated up The Tonight Show with his bubbling single “Reggaeton” on Tuesday night (Dec. 11). The arrangement, featuring a playful acoustic guitar lick and hypnotic beat, was performed entirely in Spanish. the showcase kicked off with former President Barack Obama’s famous phrase, “who doesn’t love J Balvin and reggaeton?”
While the 33-year-old Colombian singer opened alone on a stage with the song’s title plastered in blue on the screen behind him, an entourage of dancers dressed in black and red soon joined him, posing and bopping in place to the song’s insistent rhythm.
Balvin, wearing a black hoodie, cargo pants and rectangular shades pushed down on his nose, vibed with the group as the song came to an end, leading the whole gang in dropping it down to the ground. The performance came just four months after Balvin rocked the Tonight Show with “X” featuring Nicky Jam. Earlier this year, Balvin also performed “No Es Justo” with Zion & Lennox on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, proving once and for all that reggaeton music is here to stay.
