Selena Quintanilla fans will now have a reason to know more details about their idol. Telemundo has announced the date for the premiere of its new series El Secreto de Selena (Selena’s Secret), the revealing story behind the death of the Tex Mex queen, which will premiere on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 10pm/9c.
Selena’s Secret is an adaptation of the book also named El Secreto de Selena written by Telemundo journalist Maria Celeste Arrarás and published in 1997. The series will be based around the investigation and trial of Selena’s murder and will reveal details of Arrarás’s investigation and journey during her assignment as well as details of her interview opportunity with Yolanda Saldivar, Selena’s murderess.

Arrarás participated in the series creation and co-executive produced it with Fernando Barbosa, Luis Balaguer, Leonardo Aranguibel and Francisco Cordero. Also, the series was produced by Buena Vista Original Productions, Moconoco, LatinWE, and BTF Media.
