In the most recent episode of Billboard‘s In Studio, Silvestre Dangond arrived very relaxed on his motorcycle to share new details about his new album Esto Es Vida, due on May 30.
According to Dangond, his new album is a tribute to his native Colombia and it will be full of Vallenato. “After four years I’m back to vallenato,” said Dangond of the influence of Colombian folk music and his stylistic shift. “The album is not the same or won’t be the same.”
Early this year, Dangond scored his first No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart (dated Feb. 24) with “Casate Conmigo,” his collaboration with Nicky Jam. “I followed the musical instincts of my heart and this is a very important achievement,” he said. “But I want more.”
As for the release of his album, Silvestre Dangond will perform at Parque de La Leyenda in Colombia on June 2 and then he will get ready to hit the road in the U.S. for his Caliente Tour.
