
Shakira has officially nabbed the title for the Latin artist with the best song in an animated film, as voted on by fans.
Previously, Billboard highlighted 10 Latin artists who have formed part of the soundtrack of an animated film, including Ricky Martin’s “No Importa la Distancia” for Hercules and the new “Agua” by Tainy and J Balvin for the forthcoming Sponge on the Run.
With more than 57 percent of the votes, Shak’s “Try Everything” from Zootopia takes the title.
In addition to voicing the gazelle, the Colombian singer also released this feel-good track, which was included in the 2016 Disney animated film. “I won’t give up, no, I won’t give in ’til I reach the end and then I’ll start again/ No, I won’t leave, I wanna try everything,” she belts in the lyrics.
Carlos Rivera’s heartfelt “Recuerdame,” part of the Coco movie soundtrack, follows in second place with more than 22 percent of the votes.
