Shakira has given her fans a Valentine’s gift of her own by revealing some skin in the new artwork of her upcoming self-titled album, posing straight into the camera in black lingerie-like garb, while holding a guitar.
The Colombian songstress, who on Twitter alone has nearly 24 million followers, led the charge on social media on Friday (Feb. 14), giving her fans a peek at the new art work.
“The new Shakira album will launch in 39 days,” Shakira posted on Twitter. “We thought you’d like to see the top.”

Fans quickly took to Twitter and gave their opinions on the new reveal.
“You look beautiful,” wrote fan Alejandro Armendariz. “Thank you.”

Other fans wondered if the new cover art was simply a tease and are hoping for a different kind of cover. “Is this a joke omg,” wrote another commentator.
The release of the cover comes on the heels of the recent release of the single “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” featuring Rihanna, which has stirred up controversy around the world because the two pop stars show plenty of skin in the video. The theme of the video alludes to a sexual desire towards each other.
Shakira’s next album goes on sale March 25 and, according to published reports, will also include a country song with fellow “Voice” coach Blake Shelton. The new season of “The Voice” is currently in production.
