Christmas will come early for many Selena Quintanilla fans who have been patiently waiting for that MAC makeup collection inspired by the late singer to drop this year. They will finally be able to get their hands on the multi-product collection, which includes lipsticks, eye shadows, blush/foundation, etc., during a September event in her native Corpus Christi, Texas.
But a makeup collection isn’t the only Selena-inspired item we can expect in the next few months. Below we break down the upcoming events/memorabilia honoring the Queen of Tex-Mex:
Aug. 30: Selena wax figure coming to Madame Tussauds Hollywood
Selena fans took the same route as those who created a petition for a MAC makeup collection to get a Selena wax figure at the Madame Tussauds Museum in Hollywood. The official unveiling will take place Aug. 30 with all the Quintanilla family present for the special moment. The wax figure will be dressed in a re-created stage look from Selena’s 1993 concert held at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi.
Sept. 30: The M·A·C Selena World Premiere
Presented in partnership with Dillard’s department store, the event will be a day-long “product experience” where fans can buy the cosmetics before they are available in stores in October and see the Quintanilla family perform with a yet-to-be-revealed guest performer at the American Bank Center Arena.
