As the crisis in Venezuela continues, artists are still doing what they can to help the country. Spanish singer and songwriter Rosana canceled her concerts over the weekend to travel to Venezuela to lend a hand to those in need.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Rosana is in #venezuela so it is impossible to get to this weekend’s concerts in Priego de Cordoba and Ubeda [in Spain],” her social team posted on Instagram. The concerts were scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
During the past few weeks in Venezuela, people have suffered from power and communications outages, causing isolation and decay, endangering hospital patients, forcing schools and businesses to close and keeping people from communicating with their families, friends and the rest of the world. Also, the shortage of food, medicines and basic necessities has gotten even worse.
While in the South American country, Rosana posted, “We are in #Venezuela helping where we can.” The singer met with Juan Gerardo Guaidó, who has been serving as president of the National Assembly of Venezuela during the nation’s ongoing presidential crisis.
