Romeistas had a week of rollercoaster emotions thanks to Romeo Santos’ April Fools’ Day prank on Monday.
Earlier this week, the bachata singer removed all the photos and videos from his Instagram feed, posting an NSFW image of himself crouching down nude. The pic had the Aventura logo at the top and the word “Inmortal” at the bottom, revealing to fans that a new single would drop at 9 p.m. ET.
Unfortunately, no new music from Aventura dropped at the promised time, which led the fans to become angry on social media. In a video message posted Tuesday, Santos apologized to his fans for the prank, assuring them that he was not going to be releasing the single.
A few hours later, however, Santos officially (and truthfully) announced that an Aventura single called “Inmortal” is dropping Friday as part of his upcoming studio album Utopia.
“I said I was going to launch a single with Aventura yesterday at 9 p.m. Y’all didn’t pay attention… the joke and my apologies were because I did not meet the said date and time. The jokes are over,” states the video, which shows a preview of the music video featuring all four Aventura members: Henry Santos, Max Agende Santos, Lenny Santos and Romeo.
