Ricky Martin surprised Maluma fans at the Forum in Los Angeles when he reunited with the Colombian reggaeton star to perform their hit “Vente Pa’ Ca.”
Martin showed off his muscles in an all-black T-shirt on Saturday (April 7) as he joined Maluma for his L.A. stop on the F.A.M.E tour to perform their 2016 song, which has racked up more than 1.3 billion views on YouTube to date and has received numerous accolades, including two 2017 Latin Grammy nominations for record and song of the year.
When “Vente Pa’ Ca” was released in late 2016, it debuted at No. 1 on Latin Pop Airplay, earning Martin his 16th crowning hit in addition to Maluma’s third. It was also Martin’s 40th career entry.
Maluma, 24, is a 10-time finalist for this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will take place on April 26 live from Las Vegas on Telemundo. The Colombian star will sit down on April 25 for an in-depth conversation about his rise in music with Leila Cobo, Billboard’s Latin executive director of Latin Content and Programming, as part of Billboard’s Latin Music Week.
“It’s an honor to be taking part in this year’s Star Q&A at the most important conference for the Latin music industry,” Maluma said recently. “Many amazing things happened in the past year and I can’t wait to share with everyone during Latin Music Week.”
Maluma is one of Latin music’s biggest acts, boasting 32 million Instagram followers and subscribers in the millions as well through YouTube and Vevo. He notched seven top ten hits on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. He was also one of the most-viewed artists on Instagram Stories in 2017. Maluma continues on his U.S. tour and returns for another night at the Forum on Wednesday (April 11).
