After his blistering open letter to Donald Trump last August criticizing his comments about the Latino community, Latin superstar Ricky Martin announced this week his support for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her campaign “Latinos for Hillary,” BuzzFeed News reported.
The Puerto Rican singer stated that the Latino community has been attacked, not only by Donald Trump, but also by other Republican presidential candidates. “A few months ago I raised my voice against Trump’s hateful rhetoric and standing with me was Hillary Clinton. Time after time, Hillary has shown her commitment to the Latino community and that is why I’m proud to support her and to stand with her because ella está con nosotros y nuestras familias (she is with us and our families),” he said.

The “Latinos for Hillary” campaign started in early October, when Clinton made an appearance during a Marc Anthony concert in Miami. Clinton didn’t give a speech at the time. Anthony and Clinton embraced and posed briefly for photos, and then the Democratic contender was escorted out.
