
When he set out to record Apague la luz y escuche (Turn Off the Light and Listen), superstar Ricardo Arjona wanted to go to a simpler, quieter place — far from the din of the road and the arena crowds.
“I was a victim of noise,” he says in this video that you can watch exclusively on Billboard.com.
“Apague la luz y escuche is a way to leave aside the noise and listen, alone, to the same things I’ve recorded, but in the best possible way.”
Apague la luz drops July 29 and will be available physically in all retailers, but digitally only on Arjona’s website, Ricardoarjona.com — not on iTunes or any other service.
The set features 16 tracks, most of them big Arjona hits, arranged in sparse, acoustic instrumentation, with Arjona’s voice sounding particularly pristine and evocative. The album also features two new songs, including the first single, “Nada es como tú.”
