Prince Royce has decided, at least for now, to take a break from bachata and fully go into reggaeton with his new single “El Clavo,” released Friday (March 16).
It is surprising how the 28-year-old singer has moved away from his musical roots, and at the same time, he is making clear that he won’t be tied down by one genre. “El Clavo” not only represents a musical change for Royce, it also carries a message: The singer wants to help women stuck in bad relationships.
“People stick around for whatever reason, but if you’re not really happy, then what’s the point?” Royce told Billboard.
