Pedro Capó and Farruko’s “Calma” is slowly taking over streaming platforms
This week, Pedro Capó’s “Calma” music video peaked at No. 4 on YouTube’s Global Top Songs chart and has already generated more than 100 million streams on Spotify. On the Billboard charts, “Calma” debuted at No. 40 on the Hot Latin Songs chart dated Oct. 20, 2018. It peaked at No. 19 on the chart dated Jan. 12, 2019.
Farruko’s free concert has been canceled
After promising his fans a free concert in his hometown in Puerto Rico, the urban singer Farruko was forced to cancel his show. According to the El Nuevo Dia newspaper, the show was canceled because production did not follow the necessary protocols. “I have a lot of frustration,” the urban artist told the local radio show Los Reyes de la Punta on La Mega. “I’m trying to do things right, [but] the same ones turn their backs on me.”
Carlos Vives announces new documentary about musicians in Colombia
Carlos Vives has announced a new musical documentary about Colombia, to be released soon. With a guitar on his shoulder, the singer traveled through the country looking for musicians and Colombia’s sound, feeling and essence. Vives made his objectives very clear, saying, “Music has the role of recognizing and including us, cultures and languages allow us to connect … in the end we are made of the same thing.”
Entravision Communications Corporation expands José FM in Los Angeles
Entravision Communications Corporation has announced the expansion of its José FM format in the Southern California market, effective immediately. José, which has broadcasted on 97.5 FM, is now being simulcast on 107.1 FM and reaches the counties of Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange County and North San Diego. With the new change, José FM will now offer the following program lineup: Morning Motivation With El Genio Lucas (Monday-Saturday, 4-10 a.m. PT), Mid-Day Positivity With Piolin (Monday-Friday, 10:15 a.m.-2 p.m. PT), Afternoon Comedy With Erazno y La Chokolata (Monday-Friday, 2-7 p.m. PT), Evening Experiences With Armida y La Flaka (Monday-Friday, 7-9 p.m. PT), and Misterios Ocultos With Mayra Berenice (Monday-Friday, 9 p.m.-midnight PT).
