For the second consecutive year, Nicky Jam seizes a Billboard Music Award. His song “Hasta la Amanecer” won the top Latin song category. Last year, the superstar also took home a trophy in the same category with his worldwide hit “El Perdon.” “I am very grateful to all my fans, with Billboard and especially with my team for all the support I’ve received in the last few years. This award rewards all the effort I put into my career with the sole purpose of bringing good music to all of you,” Jam said in a press statement.
Daddy Yankee reaches the top 3 on Spotify’s most listened artist chart
Urban superstar Daddy Yankee has reached the top three on Spotify’s most listened artist chart, racking up more than 38 million monthly listens. The list is led by Ed Sheeran (41 million monthly listens) and The Chainsmokers (39 million). Also, Luis Fonsi and Yankee’s “Despacito” remix with Justin Bieber is still the No.1 song globally.
Romeo Santos wraps up studio session
Bachata superstar Romeo Santos took to Instagram to announce that he is on the last track of his album Golden. Earlier this year, Santos dropped the album’s first single, “Heroe Favorito,” which debuted No. 1 on Latin Airplay (chart dated March 4).
Erika Ender releases new album Tatuajes
Erika Ender has dropped a new album called Tatuajes. The set is Ender’s fifth album with nine songs, seven unreleased tracks and two bonus tracks, including the original version of the world hit “Despacito,” which she co-wrote alongside Luis Fonsi. Listen to her album below:
Top Stop Music announces new roster of talent
This week, Top Stop Music’s founder, Gregory Elias, officially announced a new phase of musical evolution. The independent label presented the new roster of several up-and-coming acts from different genres and styles such as 19-year old Cuban-American Genesis; Mexican brothers X2; and Colombian Samuel Perez, as well as former signee Aymee Nuviola, who is a leading voice in tropical music. Top Stop Music has been recognized for developing the international music careers of artists like Leslie Grace and Prince Royce.
