
?Nicky Jam is set to star in his his own bio-series, Nicky Jam: El Ganador, which will begin filming in Medellín, Colombia this week. The original series, directed by acclaimed film and music video director Jessy Terrero, will have its premiere exclusively on Telemundo this summer, while fans outside of the U.S. will get to watch the highs and lows of one of the genre’s most celebrated phenoms on Netflix.
“I’m extremely excited we started on the production of my biographical series Nicky Jam: El Ganador, which people around the world will be able to see on Telemundo,” said Nicky in a statement. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, so thanks to all those who supported me and have worked to make my dream come true.”
From the reggaeton veteran’s drug-riddled past to his prolific rise as a leading exponent in urban Latin, Telemundo’s latest bio-series will follow the coming-of-age of the award-winning singer-songwriter Nicky Jam, who today stands a global megastar. The series aims to simultaneously give a history lesson in reggaeton.
Filming begins in Colombia this week, and will continue onto locations in Mexico, Puerto Rico and New York.
