In celebration of the 2020 Billboard Latin Music Week, taking place virtually Tuesday-Friday, Oct. 20 to 23, readers voted for their favorite artists confirmed for the two-part On the Rise panel, which is a spin-off of Billboard‘s On the Rise franchise published biweekly spotlighting up-and-coming artists who are making waves in Latin music.
The candidates included nine of Latin music’s hottest voices of today, including Sech, Cazzu, Camilo, Rauw Alejandro, Natanael Cano, Nicki Nicole, Jhay Cortez, Lunay, and Mariah Angeliq. Rising Argentina trap singer Nicki Nicole ultimately took the crown with more than 37 percent of the votes. She’s followed by Cazzu in second place and Lunay in third.
The artists, some of whom have risen from obscurity to No. 1s on the Billboard charts, will join the candid conversation to discuss how they’re pushing boundaries in the urban and trap genres.
The first part of the On the Rise panel, moderated by Billboard’s Griselda Flores, takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 21 with panelists Jhay Cortez, Lunay, Nicki Nicole, Mariah Angeliq and Natanael Cano. The second part, moderated by Billboard’s Jessica Roiz, takes place Thursday, Oct. 22, with panelists Sech, Cazzu, Camilo and Rauw Alejandro.
