Trading verses in Spanish, English and Yoruba, the clip finds the Nigerian afrobeat star lounging on a comfy bed with an oversized teddy bear while the Colombian reggaeton icon shows off his gold grill and casual dance moves.
The Meji Alabi-directed video was filmed in London, Eazi’s home for much of 2020, and Balvin’s native Colombia.
“We always wanted to do a video for this song but we were locked down in different parts of the world,” Eazi said in a news release. “It was beautiful linking up and coming up with this concept in a way where we were still in the video together, sharing the energy. It captures the entire mood of the song, and the dancers were super outstanding.”
“Lento” dropped in early December through Eazi’s Banku Music/emPawa Africa imprint.
The Killertunes-produced track marks the third collab between Eazi and Balvin. They previously teamed up on the song “Como Un Bebé” (from the reggaeton star’s 2019 album, Oasis) and “Arcoíris” (featured on Balvin’s latest Colores album).
Eazi’s forthcoming EP, Something Else, is scheduled for release in early 2021.
