Billboard’s inaugural Latin Music Showcase in Colombia took place April 4 at Bogotá’s Club El Nogal with performances by Manuel Medrano, Juan Carlos Coronel, Guayacan Orquesta, Chabuco, Maia and Gusi, among other artists.
The event kicked off with a jam-packed red carpet that included some of Colombia’s biggest stars and music artists as well as more than 300 credentialed media and music industry executives. See the photos below.
Hosted by radio and TV personalities Humberto Gonzalez “El Gato” and Susy Mora, the showcase, which was produced by Emax entertainment in partnership with M&M Entertainment and Julian Sierra was lauded as “historic” and comes at a time when Colombians are having huge impact on the Billboard charts.
This year’s top finalists for the Billboard Latin Music Awards — J Balvin and Shakira — are both Colombian, as is chart leader Maluma.
“It was important to start in Colombia and make a major industry statement,” German Gonzalez, CEO of Emax Entertainment, said.
“It’s Colombia’s time,” added Marlon Rivera, CEO of MM Entertainment.
