Fher Olvera, lead singer of Maná, admits he’s a die-hard soccer fan. So much, he said at an exclusive Q&A at the Billboard Latin Music Conference in April, that he was willing to don a Mexican luchador mask to anonymously watch the Mexican team play the finals at the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
The hilarious tale reignited Maná’s soccer mania. Back in Mexico, the group went into the studio and recorded “El Gladiador Mexicano: Vamos México,” a rousing anthem dedicated to the Mexican soccer team as they prepare to compete in the World Cup this summer.
