Legendary Mexican rock band Maná were recognized for their career achievements and philanthropic contributions with a lifetime achievement award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday night (April 26).
Upon accepting the honor — which was presented to them by legendary guitarist Carlos Santana — the group gave a speech thanking Santana, who was their inspiration since they were kids. They thanked their fans for being their “allies throughout their careers,” as well as their management and everyone else on their team.
The Grammy-winning group has influenced Latin music since they formed in 1986 and have delivered multiple hits throughout their extensive successful career together, including “Labios Compartidos,” “Oye Mi Amor” and “Si No Te Hubieras Ido.” Aside from making impactful music, Maná has done environmental work with Selva Negra Foundation, an organization they formed in 1995.
They are confirmed to take the Mandalay Bay Events Center’s stage later in the night to give a memorable performance.
