Maluma made a short appearance in Michelob Ultra’s “Robot” commercial, which premiered during the Super Bowl, and it was an indicator of things to come. The brand unveils its new TV commercial titled “Nuestro Ritmo” tomorrow (May 14), and it’s all Maluma, all the time.
The campaign is a full integration for the Colombian star. It’s set to a song from Maluma’s new album, 11:11, which will be released May 17 (Sony), and was shot in his hometown of Medellín, Colombia. It not only stars Maluma but also features him as the narrative voice throughout the 30 seconds.
“Nuestro ritmo no para, y necesitamos una cerveza que vaya con el,” he says at one point in Spanish. “That rhythm you feel, that’s our rhythm,” he says in the English version.
The commercial will air for the first time during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which will also welcome Maluma as a guest and performer. The spot will then air in digital platforms and on network television (Spanish and English-language channels) nationally until the end of the year (December 2019) in both languages.
