Maluma says Brazilian singer Nego de Borel was very “surprised” when he got Maluma’s call asking him to participate in a new version of the hit “Corazon.”
“When they sent me the whole track, the song was already a smash, so figuring out how to grow the song was a challenge,” Maluma reveals in a video for Billboard‘s “How It Went Down” video series.
With help from The Rude Boyz, his production team in Medellin, they figured it out, the singer/songwriter explains.

As for Maluma’s favorite part of the song? The lyrics to the hook. “You broke my heart but now I can give all the little pieces to other girls,” he says with a laugh.
